September 2009 Ellison announces new Haas Factory Outlet and Mori Seiki facility in Tempe AZAt a time when all we’re hearing is ‘bad news’ in our market place, we are delighted to announce that Jim Ellison recently purchased a new 12,600 sq.ft. facility in Tempe, Arizona – less than 1 mile from our current location. The building is brand new, holds a key location in a newly developed science and technology park, and will become our platform to continue to lead and support our customers in the implementation of key manufacturing technologies. Central to the design of the space will be a state of the art technical center and auditorium equipped with the most modern features to enable customer and team education and development for success. This development further underlines our commitment to our own people, our customers and our market leading builders - Haas and Mori Seiki - in making Ellison Machinery the #1 ‘go to’ for manufacturers in Arizona and Southern Nevada. Ellison Now Distributes 3D Systems – Now you can print out CAD models at your desk-top! Ellison Machinery Company has become the distributor for 3D Systems Rapid Prototype Machines. This exciting technology enables operators to ‘print out’ physical 3D models from their CAD systems in a variety of materials. Focusing on the V-Flash and ProJet models (which are desktop rapid prototype machines starting in the $10K range), the machines can produce any part that fits into the 9”x7”x8” build area. “We are excited to be able to offer this product which compliments our machine tool business and enables customers to physically see and feel their designs, before going into expensive production using machine tools” said Peter Histed, President of Ellison Machinery Company. Drew DaHarb of 3D Systems said, “Rapid prototyping is gaining huge popularity – so many companies use CAD modeling and want to validate their designs prior to manufacturing. As the metal cutting market leader in Arizona and So. Nevada, Ellison Machinery is the ideal partner. Their market penetration as a leading Haas Factory Outlet means that they can introduce our technology to their dedicated and diverse customer base and provide excellent service and support” See www.3dsystems.com For more information contact Ellison Machinery on 480.968.5877 or www.ellisonaz.com
Gateway Selects Mori Seiki Gateway Community College is pleased to announce that it has selected Mori Seiki as its supplier for Fanuc controlled machine tools for its progressive, industry-focused training center. “We wanted to replace one of our two aging Fanuc controlled machines and take the opportunity to move to a “next level” technology” said Dave Zamora, Director of Production & Design Technology at GCC. “We selected the Mori Seiki NL2000SY multi-axis turning center. The machine is equipped with sub-spindle and y-axis live milling that performs as well as a machining center. Several of our client companies have recently implemented this type of machine. It is a great compliment to the nine Haas machines that are installed in our facility” “We are delighted to support Gateway Community College” said Shuji Yamashita of Mori Seiki. “This is an ideal opportunity to educate users on our key new technologies.” Peter Histed, President of Ellison Machinery stated “Gateway has a great reputation for training and has the highest level of CAD/CAM support. They are an amazing partner and as leading Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC) they have proven their ability to support local industry – we look forward to holding several seminars and events at Gateway over the next few months.” Mori Seminar day at Gateway 16th September.
